Pottery wheels, a cricket bowling machine and a Berkhamsted Town Hall lift repair: 12 Dacorum groups share £20,372. The next round opens 1 December.

Twelve Dacorum community groups have shared £20,372 in council grants. The money pays for pottery wheels, a cricket bowling machine, scout event shelters, a lift repair at Berkhamsted Town Hall and a members’ Christmas dinner, among other things.

Dacorum Borough Council published the awards on 2 October. The officer decision was signed on 5 August (Dacorum Borough Council, officer decision record).

Community grants: up to £4,000

The decision record calls this the spring 2026/27 round, while the council’s listing calls it summer 2026. Applications for the spring round closed on 31 May.

A panel of council officers chose the awards. Each group must send the council a written report on its project within 12 months of getting the money. The council’s finance officer confirmed the grants fit within the year’s community grants budget.

What it means for you

If you run a club, charity or community group in Dacorum, the next round opens on Tuesday 1 December 2026 and closes on 31 January 2027. The council’s grants page sets out three schemes:

  • Community Grant: up to £4,000
  • Small Grants Fund: up to £550, open to informal groups as well as charities and clubs
  • Community Grant Training Bursary: up to £500

There are three rounds a year:

  • 1 April to 31 May
  • 1 August to 30 September
  • 1 December to 31 January
